ToyZone got a sequel. This time I teamed up with Joona Poikonen for a nice comeback because our last production together was already 6 years a go (LeGorSIKA - check below for more information). We didn't really have too much time as we started the project a week before the Assembly demoparty where we wanted to release it. The music was done by Kai-Eerik Komppa who pinched that one out in a very tight schedule.
The production itself is a stop-motion animation using small plastic-tubes that are placed one by one with pinchers on a plate that has 72x36 small sticks to support them. It placed 2nd in the Assembly 2007 Shortfilm competition - which btw. had great great level of quality among the participants.
Separated page for my pinhole experimentations. I'm posting there my photographs taken with a simple plastic box with film in it. It's also a re-learning project to get concrete with the calculating of the theories behind photography by using them in practice.
RMT is a simple 3d-mesh fileformat I've been working on lately. Reason to do this is that most of the time when starting a 3d-project with a coder the first problem is the fileformat to use, how to get the stuff out of the 3d-tools etc. This way I can have it a bit more standardized as I can pull it out of the hat and modify it to my needs if there's need for futher refinement. Note that it's still just a simple format to output just 3d models. I'm up to writing more modern and complete 3d-fileformat and exporter if there ever comes up a need for it.
From this page you can find specification + 3dsmax exporter and importer for the fileformat. It's not really in final shape and almost everything can change soon but I quess I'm going to wait for some coder input for that.
Photos and report from a trip that we did to Chernobyl with some friends. The main page of the report has been recorded as an entry page over 20000 times already.
A series of Stop-Motion animations I did with Joona Poikonen.
LeGorso was 1st in Assembly'2000 Wild demo competition and LeGorSIKA was at 1st place in Assembly'2001 Wild demo competition. (These days they call it "Short film competition")
LeGorSIKA has been aired couple of times thru finnish television channels and it has won several awards in movie-festivals.
LeGorSIKA also won Kultainen porkkana-award in 2003. Finnish national radio channel Ylex and pixoff.net picked 6 best finnish indie movies from Pixoff.net and people could freely vote for the best movie out of them to get the award.
